This year I am trying to sketch at least one cartoon a week, in a new series called ‘Sketchy Start’. It’s kind of a warm up to start my day and get my creative juices flowing.
The first celebrates a well deserved trophy for one of Hollywood’s finest. In my opinion, it was about time that the brilliant Joaquin Phoenix picked up an Oscar after three award worthy performances went without reward!
It’s Christmas Movie Time!

I love this time of year, not least because you can revisit your collection of Christmas films that are redundant for 11 months of the year. I always start on Thanksgiving with Planes, Trains and Automobiles and then it’s full steam ahead with the festive favourites! So to celebrate, this year I have illustrated a Gremlins poster to add to the Movie Classics collection.

Back to Back titles… a fourth World Cup victory… Team USA really are the dominant force in Women’s Soccer. In celebration of another World Title I have illustrated the second and decisive goal in the Final between the United States and Netherlands. Football Crazy!

What a week of football we have just had!
• Monday: Vincent Kompany blasted City back to the top of the Premier League with an absolute screamer.
• Tuesday: Liverpool completed ‘The Miracle on Merseyside’ by defeating Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield to qualify for the Champions League Final (again!).
• Wednesday: Tottenham came back from a 3 goals down to snatch a last minute winner and go through the Champions League Final!!
• Thursday: Both Arsenal and Chelsea reached the Europa League Final.
Phew! Now it’s the last weekend of Premier League action with the title on the line and one point separating City and Liverpool plus the EFL Play-Offs… I have a feeling it’s gong to be EPIC!

Raging Bull Poster

The latest instalment in my ‘Movie Classics’ poster range is for the 1980 film ‘Raging Bull’. Martin Scorsese’s inspired use of the operatic classic ‘The Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana’ by Italian composer Pietro Mascagni works beautifully. Used in the opening scene of the movie, it has quite rightfully become one of cinema’s most iconic moments. https://etsy.me/2PDMuVt
